I'm E.H.Benoit, a forty-something (emphasis is on the something part) mother of two exceptional daughters. I met my husband on a blind date over 25 years ago, and we have managed to stay together ever since despite my eccentricities.
Prior to creating this blog, I taught fourth grade for over ten years and only stopped when my husband received a job offer he couldn't refuse at the other end of the state. I am an avid supporter of the Humane Society & ASPCA, Toys for Tots, and the Red Sox.
I enjoy reading young adult and children's novels because it helps keep me young at heart. Walking in the morning enables me to clear my head and prepare for whatever adventures the day might bring (too often with the help of my two cats and two kids). Writing and reading poetry allows me to think outside of the box for a little while each day.
Feline Funnies is a series of anecdotes about life (mine in particular) with feline friends. My knowledge of cats has evolved over the last few years as a result of necessity. I adopted my first cat on a whim and proceeded to purchase every book on Amazon related to cat care I could find at the time. My vet also became the most used number on my speed dial. Is there actually such a thing as a "hypochondriac cat owner"?
Feline Funnies is dedicated to my former students who begged me to include anecdotes about my cats within my daily lessons on narrative and expository writing. I always promised that someday I would write them down so other people could laugh too.
Laughing with cats soothes the soul.
